‘Bont Byw’- is an environmental sustainability initiative being run by Sustainable Swansea in the Pontarddulais area until spring next year. Events and activities will cover different themes at a time, so, waste, energy, travel, food and biodiversity will all be looked at. As well as organising specific events, we will be working with existing groups, societies, schools, churches etc. in the area. The work will culminate in a Community Green Map being produced for Pontarddulais which will be prepared by local people with our support, and digital photography classes will also contribute to this process. We are looking for 10 household to participate in a carbon foot printing challenge and we hope to establish a local sustainability group.
